Trading rules
Every rule in one place, each with a worked example. The same rules apply to every trader, and nothing is decided case by case.
These rules apply to every Sim2Funded account. Where a rule differs between challenges, the table shows both. Examples use a $100K 2-Step Challenge.
| 2-Step Challenge | 1-Step Challenge | |
|---|---|---|
| Profit target | 8% → 5% | 10% |
| Max daily loss | 5% | 3% |
| Max total loss | 10% | 6% |
| Min. trading days | 3 | 3 |
| Leverage | Up to 1:10 | Up to 1:5 |
Profit targets
To pass a phase, your closed balance must reach the target: 8% then 5% on the 2-Step Challenge, or 10% on the 1-Step Challenge. All positions must be closed when the target is reached. Funded accounts have no profit target.
Example
A $100K 2-Step Challenge passes Phase 1 at a closed balance of $108,000 ($8,000 profit), and Phase 2 at $105,000 on a new $100K balance.
Max daily loss
At 00:00 UTC each day we record the higher of your balance or equity. During that day your equity, including open positions, must not fall more than the daily limit below that level.
Example: day one
At the reset your balance and equity are both $100,000. With a 5% limit, your equity must stay above $95,000 until the next reset.
Example: after a winning day
At the next reset your balance is $102,000 but an open trade puts equity at $103,000. The higher figure, $103,000, is used. The limit is 5% of that, $5,150, so equity must stay above $97,850 that day.
Max total loss
Your equity must never fall below your starting balance minus the maximum loss. The level is static: it doesn't move up as you make profit.
Example
On a $100K account with a 10% limit, equity must stay above $90,000 at all times, whatever your balance reaches. On the 1-Step Challenge (6%), the same account's floor is $94,000.
Minimum trading days
Each phase needs at least 3 trading days: days on which you open or close at least one position. They don't need to be consecutive. The No minimum days add-on removes this rule. Funded accounts have no minimum.
Time limit and inactivity
There is no time limit on any phase. An account with no trades for 30 days in a row is closed as inactive.
Leverage
Leverage on BTC and ETH is up to 1:10 on the 2-Step Challenge and up to 1:5 on the 1-Step Challenge. Altcoins and DeFi tokens use lower leverage, shown in the platform's symbol specification.
News trading
Trading around news is allowed during challenges. On funded accounts, you can't open or close a position from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after a scheduled high-impact macro event: FOMC rate decisions, US CPI and US non-farm payrolls. The events are listed in your dashboard each week. Positions opened earlier may stay open, and stop-loss or take-profit orders triggered in the window don't count as a breach. Profit from a trade that breaks this rule is removed; repeated breaches may close the account.
Expert Advisors
EAs and other automated strategies are allowed, provided they don't use a prohibited practice listed below. You're responsible for everything an EA does on your account.
Copy trading
You may copy trades between your own Sim2Funded accounts, within the $400K combined allocation. Copying another person's trades, signals or accounts, or letting anyone else trade your account, is not allowed.
Weekends and overnight
Crypto markets run 24/7. You can trade and hold positions at weekends and overnight. Overnight financing applies at the daily rollover unless you choose the No overnight fees add-on.
Prohibited practices
These practices exploit the simulated environment rather than the market, so they would not work with real capital. Using any of them breaches the account, and profit made with them is not eligible for a reward.
- Latency arbitrage, or trading on delayed or erroneous prices
- Tick scalping or high-frequency strategies that exploit the price feed
- Exploiting price differences between our feed and a specific exchange
- Hedging opposite positions across different accounts, including accounts at other firms
- Group or coordinated trading between different people
- Account management by a third party, or selling or sharing account access
- Any use of software or methods to manipulate the platform or its data
Multiple accounts
You may run several challenges and funded accounts at once. The combined starting balance of your active funded accounts can be up to $400K.
Identity verification
Before your first funded account is issued you complete identity verification and sign the funded-trader agreement. Your name must match the name on the challenge purchase and the payout account.
